The Company was formed as a result of the merger of the aircraft handling divisions of the Y.B.A. Kanoo Group. (including International Travel Agency), Saudi Tourist & Travel Bureau, and Darwish Travel Agency.

UNASCO now provides ground handling services to over 60% of the foreign airline business within Saudi Arabia.

In Jeddah, UNASCO handles 15 scheduled airlines and over 70% of the total Haj Pilgrimage programme into Jeddah. UNASCO's Haj programme now exceeds 3000 flights.

In Riyadh, UNASCO provides passenger handling services for 9 scheduled airlines.

In Dammam, UNASCO provides full handling, including cargo to 14 scheduled airlines, Aramco Aviation and Corporate/Executive Operators.

New ground handling equipment, to the value of 6 million dollars has recently been introduced.

UNASCO has been awarded the contract to install state-of-art Common User Departure Control and Baggage Reconciliation Systems in the foreign airline terminals in both Riyadh and Jeddah. The Gulf Air DCS system is already operational in Dammam.
