Jorij Abraham shared his insights and reflections on the future of combating scams and cybercrime, emphasizing the need for collaboration, innovation, and the implementation of multiple solutions.
Jorij began by discussing the upcoming battle between AI technologies used by cybercriminals and defenders, highlighting the significant challenge this presents. He noted that cybercriminals currently have an advantage due to fewer restrictions and more resources. However, he expressed optimism, pointing out that there are many promising solutions available. He emphasized the importance of simple, smart solutions that can be shared globally through open APIs. The commercial sector is becoming more engaged, with multiple solutions needed to protect consumers.
Learning from successful models, such as the Singapore Anti-Scam Command Center, and adapting these strategies in other countries is crucial. Jorij stressed the importance of collaboration and sharing existing solutions, like those from the DNS Research Federation, to effectively combat scammers.
Jorij outlined GASA's focus for the coming year, which includes facilitating information and intelligence sharing, assisting with networking through the GASA directory, continuing research and reports to influence government actions, and highlighting successful anti-scam efforts. He encouraged attendees to use the GASA directory to connect and collaborate, share best practices and insights, support future summits and reports, consider setting up or supporting local GASA chapters, and join GASA as members to support its mission.
In his closing remarks, Jorij emphasized the importance of collective effort and continuous improvement in the fight against scams, encouraging active participation and collaboration within the anti-scam community.
