In the State of Scams in the Netherlands 2023 report, 1,200 voices from the Netherlands, predominantly women in the 54+ age group with vocational education, contributed their experiences to a study by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) and ScamAdviser, painting a complex scam landscape. Each account, each lost euro, built up to a staggering figure of €1.78 billion (US$1.894 billion), or 0.2% of the nation's GDP.
