About the event
Scam compounds are rapidly becoming a regional and global emergency involving human trafficking, forced cybercrime labor, and highly organized transnational fraud. In Southeast Asia, various reports suggest tens if not hundred of thousands are trapped in scam centers, fuelling a shadow economy of digital crime that crosses borders and platforms.
On July 25th, 2025, the GASA Southeast Asia will host a webinar highlighting the inner workings of scam compounds and their devastating human impact. The session starting at 10AM SGT will feature real victim accounts, insights from international experts, and a live Q&A to equip the public and professionals with practical tools for protection and advocacy.
